End of Summer Season

17 September, 2007 (22:14) | Hockey, Life In General, WoW, Work | By: Brian

The end of the Bearcats’ Pond season came to an end tonight. We played our first and only playoff game and lost 2-1. It was close and fun and exciting, but we couldn’t turn it in the end. We had a terrible team skillwise, but had a lot of fun anyway and that’s what really counts. I’m going to play at both UD and the Pond in the fall. The UD team starts on Oct. 2nd, I believe. The Pond’s fall season will start a week or two after that. I will, of course, post another nifty Google spreadsheet when I have the complete schedule. There was only one ref tonight and I think he did pretty well by himself. He called two penalties without actually seeing them, but it was one on both sides, so it didn’t matter too much.

I also picked up the second season of Robot Chicken on DVD on the ride home tonight, using a coupon from the border’s club. I got it nearly half off, and the first two episodes are awesome.

Saturday I went to Oktoberfest in Newark and had a few beers and some brats with the tech house crew, which was pretty tasty. And in WoW, I’ve got my main character up to level 61! The expansion content is pretty sweet. We moved our guild night to Wednesdays because of monday night football. So on Wednesdays I’ll be online playing with rachel, markley, rob burnham, lauren, fred, shasta, blair, adam and more. It’s a lot of fun to get everyone online together and chatting while we kill stuff.

Work is going about the same as usual. I’m learning a lot about EJB 3.0 and the JPA.

Flyers started preseason tonight and beat those lousy Devils. Go Flyers!!!
